Cilantro Jalapeno Turkey Burgers

Im ready for warm weather! Along with warm weather comes all the food that goes along with it! These are perfect for an evening spent grilling. I love using turkey to subsitute everything. Eric swears up and down he can tell but if i dont tell him he doesnt even think twice. I usually whip up a great Jalapeno sauce with this as well. ENJOY!!!

Ingredients for the turkey burger:
  • 1 1/2 pounds of white turkey ( Honeysuckle White is my Favorite and keeps a patty form the best)
  • 1/4 cup of fresh chopped cilantro
  • 1 Jalapeno(seeds removed and diced)
  • 3 Tbsp of Weber All Natural Gourmet Burger Seasoning ( This stuff is Awesome!)
Mix all ingredients together and pat into burger patties * set aside in the fridge.

Ingredients for the sauce:
  •  1 Jalapeno (seeds removed and diced.)
  • 1/2 cup Lite Mayo
  • 1 Tbsp Ketchup
  • 1 Tbsp Mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • pinch of Cayenne Pepper
  • 1/2 pound bacon
Cook bacon as directed. When bacon is cooked remove grease. Add diced Jalapenos and bacon back to the skillet and saute the jalapenos and bacon on low for about 5 to 10 minutes. While that is cooking mix the Mayo, Ketchup, Mustard, Garlic Powder and pinch of Cayenne pepper together. After jalapenos are soft, seperate the bacon and jalapenos. Add jalapenos to the mayo mixture and whip together and you have an awesome sauce. The bacon can be added to the top of your burger as dressing. Since its Spicy its Awesome!

Hope you all enjoy as much as i do!!

rustic wine rack 🔩🍷

I had sooo much fun with this today! I saw this on Pinterest about 6 months ago and have been dying to recreate it. I spent my whole Thursday afternoon  at Menards digging through the discard junk pile of wood ( the poor 19 year old boy helping me "I'm sorry"). After the boy measured each peice I pulled out I found the perfect two each one $.89!!! The hex screws were about $1.38. This project actually cost me exactly $3.16!! how can you beat that?!  Shout out to Eric on this one! I like to eye things and he made the tape measure be my best friend today!! 😒 I LOVE how rustic chic this turned out. Can't wait to hang it and fill it with my favorite bottles of wine! tutorial here!  http//www.shanty-2-chic/2013/03/wine-rack.html

Ok one more I promise! I had one more that was EASY PEASY! I had to have this as soon as I laid eyes on it! the modern style with the natural wood lines I couldn't pass up! and I had to have it in my home! this piece cost me  $10.00
You want to know a secret??? this is actually a sewing table :) I glued the top flap down so it doesn't come up. If you open the drawer you get nothing. BUT how great is this modern look! I don't need another junk drawer anyway! ;) This piece took nothing HONESTLY! I sanded it down. Stained it. took 5 coats of dark cherry wood sealed it and WA LA! I did change up the hardware on it. I picked one out from Menards for about  $2.00! So excited about this piece as well. So here it is finished!

Thrift Refurbish :)

I've been on Vacation this week and have decided to devote ALL my time to thrifting .Is thrifting even a word? It is now! :) I spent all afternoon Tuesday going to different thrift stores to find that perfect piece that I could turn to be an amazing piece! and I found it!

I got this steal for $5.99! I hurried home and took this puppy apart! The top pad and chair pad were held together by screws. I took them apart and started sanding. I used a new detail pad that worked awesome on removing finish from furniture. After sanding and wiping down dirt and grime. I started staining. I loved the wood finish on this chair. Right now I am obsessed with keeping the wood just giving it a little love. So I went with a dark cherry wood finish. I did about 2 coats on this piece. I let it dry for about 30 minutes in between coats. I finished it with a polyurethane gel. This is to keep the stain sealed. After letting it dry overnight. Wednesday morning I headed to Hobby Lobby. FYI get the app so you can always have a 40% coupon on hand! I scored this fabric for about 10$! and I have plenty extra :) I left the fabric that was already on it and just stapled the new fabric right on top of the old.

IM IN LOVE WITH THIS PEICE!!! SO EASY!!  I cant wait to put it in my living room corner! I put this awesome chair together for about $12!!
